VSI Series
Project Brief
To develop a series design for the Oxford University Press – Very Short Introductions series. The designs needs to have the potential to be effectively translated across a three-title ‘collection’ in the series
Project Solution
I created a series of covers for the Renaissance-themed editions, each featuring original illustrations drawn by hand and digitally refined in Photoshop. The goal was to reference the visual language of the Renaissance while giving it a contemporary, distinctive edge. The illustrations are stylistically inspired by Andy Warhol’s Pop Art approach, reinterpreting classical imagery through bold colours and layered texture to bring new energy to familiar subjects. The title's typeface echoes Renaissance-era lettering, with a white banner across each cover to reinforce the academic tone of the series. The covers also adhere to the Oxford University Press’s brand guidelines.
