Project Brief:
To create a design magazine that celebrates and promotes BLAST’s art fellowship as well as the organisation itself. The magazine should have a contemporary style that mirrors the layout, colours, and quality of images seen in modern museum catalogues, whilst also cohering with the brand guidelines. The design must highlight BLAST’s message on connecting people from different communities, to learn and create, whilst looking at the relationship between science, art and black culture.

Design Solution:
I co-designed this magazine with a partner to create this magazine. the cover features one of the fellow's artwork with the BLAST logo at the top and their slogan, the names of each fellow are displayed at the bottom of the cover. The magazine's layout utilises white-space to convey a contemporary and minimalist feel, taking inspiration from the magazine 'CEREAL'. Big images are used of the artwork, spilling off the pages to not only emphasis their work but to create a more interesting and dynamic layout, rather than a repetitive and systematic grid-like approach.
